Denise Clegg, MAPP, is an experienced executive leader, trainer, and coach. As a mindfulness and well-being expert for Happify Health, her coaching tracks, guided meditations, and webinars reach millions of people worldwide.
As a nonprofit executive she has led teams to raise more than $40 million for positive social change. As a consultant and coach, she specializes in building the capacity of organizations and the well-being of people inside them. Clients have included Goodwill NY/NJ, the National Coalition Against Censorship, the International Campaign for Tibet, Nature & Culture International, Drug Policy Alliance, and the Brooklyn College Foundation.
Denise has been a keynote speaker, trainer, and lecturer for companies and programs including Happify Health, Grant Thornton International, the Penn Neuroscience Bootcamp, Philadelphia Science Festival, the Potential Project, and the Penn Resilience Program.
TEACHER, WRITER, RESEARCHER
Denise holds a Masters Degree of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania. She then taught at Penn as an assistant instructor for graduate and undergraduate courses in positive psychology, launched the Penn Positive Neuroscience Program, and directed the Penn Center for Neuroscience & Society. She also served as Senior Design Director for the five-course Penn Coursera certificate program in the Fundamentals of Positive Psychology.
Denise is an author and contributing editor or researcher to several publications including The Mind of a Leader; Resilience: How to Navigate Life’s Curves; Positive Psychology News Daily; and U-Thrive: How to Succeed in College and Life. As a long-time student of meditation, Denise has attended dozens of retreats and completed in-depth training for specific populations from the Potential Project, The 3 Doors Academy, the Compassion Project, and the Penn Program for Mindfulness. She is a current Fellow at the Penn Center for Neuroscience & Society and former fellow of the Mind & Life Summer Research Institute.
